LCC welcomes music majors seeking careers in music, as well as general college students seeking music experience and instruction. Beginning Fall 2017, students can pursue a music-specific transfer degree that allows for easy transition to music programs at universities in Washington State.
Musically inclined students in any field of study are encouraged to participate in LCC ensembles and apply for music scholarships. Though music majors may receive award preference, many scholarships and awards are provided each year to non-majors as well.
LCC music students study together, take classes together, and perform in ensembles together. This sense of camaraderie is one of many unique advantages in LCC's smaller and focused music program. Additionally, students receive individual attention inside and outside the classroom with faculty who are also active performers.
