If you can't find what you need at the LCC library, consider requesting an interlibrary loan.
Interlibrary Loan (or ILL) is a cooperative process by which library materials are made available by one institution to another institution and its patrons.
Materials include books or periodical articles only. Media materials and eBooks are not available.
Many libraries will not loan books with the current year's copyright. Generally, it takes 7 - 10 business days to receive materials via interlibrary loan.
Library staff will attempt to obtain items that are free of charge. If there is a cost, you will be contacted before ordering to confirm that you are willing to pay. Any cost to repair or replace damaged or lost material is the responsibility of the borrower.
In cases where Library Services is unable to obtain information or materials on a given subject using its own collections, Library Services will attempt to locate such information or materials using the interlibrary loan process. Interlibrary loans will be subject to standard nationally accepted protocols and practices, and will also recognize informal agreements with local area libraries. Interlibrary loan services are available to the following classes of users only: students, staff, faculty, and administration.
Interlibrary loans from other institutions are frequently not renewable, nor can Library Services initiate a second request for the loan of a specific item for the same patron. Patrons are limited to requesting four interlibrary loans per week. Library users will be charged any and all associated fees assessed by the lending library; however, they will not be charged fees without their prior consent. Patrons are expected to return materials by the date due.
